This year we’re quietly excited. Here’s why…
On Saturday 29 October 2011, the Sydney Food & Wine Fair celebrates 21 years of giving!
Sydney’s finest restaurants, coolest bars, most distinguished wineries and savviest merchants will again turn it all on to raise funds for the AIDS Trust of Australia.
Indeed, from the hearts of Sydney’s food industry 21 years ago has grown an expression of giving large enough to fill Hyde Park North.
Throw in a generous sprinkling of fabulous entertainment and diverting activity and you’ve got an afternoon like no other. It’s all about excellence, diversity and charity. We love it dearly. So will you.
Did you know the Fair is Sydney’s largest and longest running single day food and wine event?
Did you know that in its history some 1680 Stallholders, supported by 2100 Volunteers, 600 Entertainers and 50 Sponsors have served approximately 600,000 portions of food and drink to more than 500,000 Patrons to help raise some $2m for the AIDS Trust of Australia? What a remarkable effort. Thank you.
Do you know how it works? Stallholders contribute food and beverages that Patrons exchange for coupons. We sell the coupons to Patrons. Sponsors contribute in kind or in cash to assist with the cost of infrastructure. Entertainers and stallholder staff contribute their time and talents to serve Patrons. Without them all there would be nothing. With them, well the celebration continues and more seriously, makes a significant contribution to continue the work of the AIDS Trust of Australia.
