In October 2009, graciously sponsored by the City of Sydney, the Sydney Food & Wine Fair brought together the generous talents of Sydney’s finest restaurants, coolest bars, most distinguished wineries and savviest merchants.
Names like Guillaume, Longrain, Otto, Catalina, Quay, Café Sydney, Buon Ricardo and Icebergs nestled up beside Burke St Bakery, Brasserie Bread, Lisa McGuigan, Allpress Espresso, Parker’s Organic Juices, Ben & Jerry’s, Abbott Village Bakery, Australian Mushroom Growers, Batlow Apples, Yellow Tail Wines, the Wine Society, Tempus Two, Scarborough Wine Co., James Squire, De Bertolli Wines, David Hook Wines, Brown Bros. Wines, Adina Vineyards, the Midnight Shift and Ferrero Rocher – to name just a few.
It’s all about excellence and diversity.
A capacity array of 100 generous stallholders served up a dazzling selection of signature dishes, enticing treats and selected beverages to almost 28,000 fairgoers.
The weather was kind, the park a picture and a host of local performers helped visitors while away the afternoon pleasantly replete and diverted.
We, however, do not rest.
2010 sees the Sydney Food & Wine Fair celebrate its 20th birthday, and plans are well under way.
