The Sydney Food & Wine Fair, now in its 19th year, was conceived as Counter Aid in David Jones Food Hall in 1991. The following year, supported by a core group of Sydney restaurateurs, the event expanded outdoors to Castlereagh Street before moving into its present venue in Hyde Park North where it has become the flagship fundraising event for the AIDS Trust of Australia.

Supported by major sponsors the City of Sydney and the Sydney Morning Herald’s Sydney International Food Festival as well as sponsors 32 Hundred Lighting, Stella Concepts, Leuver Design, and Constant Security the Fair has become the largest single-day food and wine event on the Sydney calendar.

Last year over 100 stallholders from Sydney’s leading restaurants, cafes, and winemakers helped to bring in over $80,000 from the Fair. In 2009 we hope to increase this amount with an anticipated crowd of 30,000 people.

We ask Stallholders to Donate...
  • Food stalls - a minimum of 450 entrée-sized portions of a signature dish or dessert per stall.
  • Wine stalls - a minimum of 15 cases of wine per stall.
  • Beer and soft drink stalls – a minimum of 60 cases per stall.
  • Coffee stalls – a minimum of 1000 portions, coffee machine, recyclable cups, milk and sugar.
It is important that the amount of portions that are pledged or donated are in fact honored. We realise that 450 portions and 15 cases of wine are a huge request however a short fall of this generous donation represents a loss of projected income. Your cooperation and understanding on this matter is greatly appreciated.

We Provide the Stallholders with...
  • A fete stall measuring 2.4m x 2.4m, generic stall signage, recyclable “envirotrays”, cutlery, napkins, plastic glassware, shared washing up and hand washing facilities, ice and ice tubs - if required, garbage removal and general event security.
  • For those stalls wishing to cook on site we are able to provide flattop BBQs, gas rings and gas bottles. Power will be available for coffee machines and other stalls on request.
